Telemarketing company Batbs Telemarketive Services has said it will stop offering mobile telemarketing in India and other parts of the world.
The move follows a major investigation into the practice, which has been blamed for more than a dozen deaths.
Telemarketing firms in India have been fined about $600 million for offering mobile marketing services, according to Reuters news agency.
The company said in a statement on Thursday that it was committed to improving the performance of telemarketeting in India.
In a statement to Reuters, Batbs said it would be providing refunds to customers affected by the decision.
It will not be available to customers in India or to any other customer or entity,” it said.
